Size375MLVintage2006SKU6828A laser beam of acidity serves as the backbone for this classic Le Haut Lieu. Upon release this wine was virtually undrinkable. But now, after a few years in bottle the fruit has emerged and the acidity is balanced and perfectly in tune. Well worth the wait.
Size750MLVintageNVSKU18116Bright gold. Pear and white peach on the nose, with floral and spice qualities and a hint of orange zest. At once fleshy and dry, offering tangy orchard fruit flavors and spiciness. This impressively energetic sparkling wine packs a more precise punch than plenty of non-vintage Champagnes.
Size750MLVintage2012SKU18122Lovely ripe aromas of white fruits, limestone, and minerals emanate from the glass of the 2012 Vouvray Sec. This wine exhibits wonderful breadth on the palate, a light to medium-bodied personality packed with tangy lemons and creamed minerals, as well as a prolonged, harmonious finish. Organic and pure.
Size750MLVintage2012SKU17832Fresh lime, apricot, peach, and almond in the nose and on a tight, bright palate, shot through with saline and chalky minerality, all of which makes for a long, lip-smacking, rather dry Riesling-like show. Dense, energetic, and refreshing, this really deserves a couple of years in the cellar. But it's hard to resist now!
Size375MLVintage2008SKU14636White truffle, white pepper, and chalk dust in the nose of the Huet 2008 Vouvray Demi-Sec Le Mont set the stage for another pungent, practically sizzling palate performance with citrus zest and radish adding to the peppery and tactile mineral impressions... 91 points Wine Advocate (2008)
Size750MLVintage2009SKU14637This beautiful sparkling white offers a vibrantly fresh nose with loads of creamy apricot, succulent melon, round lemon zest tones and a savory touch of nougat. The palate is as decadently vibrant as it is exuberantly delicious. Bright fig, honey and ripe melon flavors are intermingled with racy crystallized ginger notes and a creamy acidity that dances across the palate. Elegantly supple and very sexy.
Size750MLVintage2005SKU9537Backward and restrained on the nose. It displays a rich character with great texture and structure, but has an added degree of complexity derived from its more mineral core. Excellent. Will continue to develop effortlessly for the next decade.
Size500MLVintage2005SKU6829This shows jaw-dropping purity, with intensely sweet but amazingly graceful notes of dried persimmon, candied ginger, green melon, white tea, cr?me fra?che, mineral and Key lime custard that ripple through the nearly endless finish. Size1.5LVintage1997SKU6962Extraordinarily rich. An amazing amount of botrytis gives this sweet white a powerful, spicy character, its masses of ripe fruit kept lively by electrifying acidity. So concentrated it tastes as though all the flesh has evaporated, leaving only the spirit behind. Will easily last your lifetime and mine. Wine Spectator (1997)
Size750MLVintage1934SKU6116To anyone who knows Vouvray, Huet needs no introduction. This estate enjoys a reputation second to none. The wines originate from three superb individual vineyards: Le Haut Lieu, Clos du Bourg and Le Mont. Le Haut Lieu, surrounding the late Mr Huet's home, was already considered one of the best vineyard sites in the region as early as the 15th century. The resulting wines are very special. Sometimes austere and closed when young these wines age beautifully. They are the expression of the Chenin Blanc at its best. The sweet wines from the great vintages are the stars. They may be kept for 50 years or more and still show their gorgeous honey botrytised flavours over layers of rich unctuous fruit.
Size750MLVintage1945SKU6117Rich and unctuous, there is texture and power but the wine is not overly sweet as any residual is beautifully balanced with bright, cleansing acidity. There was plenty of botrytis in '45 and this gives the wine a wonderfully spicy, savoury edge. Great length and endless complexity. A once in a lifetime experience.
