This is both riper and more elegant with a lovely and beautifully layered blend of red currant, plum, spice and earth. There is good mid-palate density to the suave, even opulent flavors that exude a fine minerality on the equally spicy and persistent finish. A much more reserved nose that despite its reticence is elegant, pure and clearly very ripe leading to rich, full and somber flavors supported by dusty and mouth coating tannins. Interestingly, this is more elegant. there is also a bit more ripeness here and the nose evidences both red and blue pinot fruit aromas that complement well the rich, full and sweet flavors that offer good volume and while the structure is also supple, there is more of it. The depth that I usually find with this wine finally arrives on the finish and this is lovely if a bit more forward than is typical. Sweet Spot Outstanding! Allen Meadows - Burghound
