A nice light to medium bodied wine with nice richness and cherry flavor and a full long lasting finish. Great Turkey or poultry wine..also good with pasta.
This wine comes from the great Chateauneuf-du-Pape producer Chateau de Beaucastel and shows its pedigree at an incredibly low price. "A real sleeper of the vintage is the 2006 Perrin et Fils Reserve Cotes du Rhone, which comes from their vineyards in Grand Pre and Vinsobres. A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre, the wine displays excellent black cherry fruit intermixed with some truffle, roasted herb, licorice, and spice. It has excellent freshness, an invigorating, rich mid-palate, and good acidity and spice in the finish. Drink it over the next 5-7 years." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
This dark 2006 Cotes du Rhone exhibits a huge profile of black cherries, earth, pepper, and forest floor, silky texture, and a subtle spicy finish finish.
A vibrant, bright and youthful purple hued wine. Gorgeous aromas on the nose, with cherry pie and coffee, and a layer of buttery, toasty oak in the background. Packed with great cherry and summer fruits on the palate, with firm, rounded tannins and fine acidity. Great structure.
A wonderful palate of dark plums, black cherry, and spice but with a great deal more structure than one would expect. Some critics were a bit dubious at the elevation of Beaumes-de-Venise to full cru status but doubters should get hold of a case or two this wine . . . it is a real stunner.
