White flower, pear and subtle spice hints are found here and the spice continues onto the edgy, intense and stony but concentrated flavors that culminate in a linear, moderately austere finish. This will require a few years to round out and develop as it's very primary at present. Allen Meadows-Burghound.
Great crystalline ruby color all the way to the rim. Ripe strawberry and black cherry fruits along with subtle wood and spice. Excellent balance showing excellent concentration and refreshing acidity. In short a spectacular value. Short term cellaring
Ripe and generous without sacrificing the elegance that is the hallmark of this vineyard. Presents a spectacular array of fruit mineral and nerve; this is a standout in a very good vintage.
A deft touch of wood frames earthy and ripe aromas of raspberry and cherry that dissolve into rich, full and relatively powerful finish. A deceptively big Pinot Noir!
The first wine to display noticeable reduction and this should definitely be decanted. The flavors however were rich, full and with ample mid-palate fat that gives the finish an attractive texture and buffers the punchy and moderately firm acid spine.

There is another dimension here to the layered and perfumed herbal nose that complements perfectly the intense, pure and detailed flavors that display better overall ripeness and a mouth coating, exceptionally long finish. This is lovely stuff with impressive flavor impact. Allen Meadows-Burghound
The nose is fresher and more elegant with higher register fruit aromas and supple, sweet and more refined flavors that are well structured, all wrapped in a subtly mineral finish. .Allen Meadows - Burghound
Here the nose runs more toward floral and citrus aromas that give way to bigger, richer and more powerful medium plus-bodied flavors brimming with plenty of dry extract on the tangy, delicious and moderately complex finish. This is a bit tighter as well and should reward an extra year in the cellar. Allen Meadows-Burghound
Very expressive and ripe to the point of being exotic with equally ripe, generous and mouth coating flavors that possess excellent volume and mid-palate fat and are wrapped in a textured and mouth coating finish. It is delicious and despite the ripeness and volume, manages to stay in near perfect balance. Allen Meadows-Burghound
Delicious, fresh and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent detail and a lovely mineral streak on the punchy and energetic finish. It's ripe yet vibrant.
This too is very fresh and bright, particularly for the appellation with floral and citrus aromas that dissolve into bigger, richer and more powerful big-bodied flavors that possess good mid-palate concentration and less obvious sweetness as the finish is agreeably dry. Allen Meadows-Burghound
An attractive nose of brioche, floral notes and orchard fruit aromas gives way to mineral-infused flavors that are delicious and vibrant. Top Notch Chardonnay!
A very fresh nose features notes of citrus, pear and pain grillé and leads to bright, lively and intense middle weight flavors that are tangy and minerally, all wrapped in a racy, complex and delicious finish. Lovely in every respect.Outstanding! Allen Meadows-Burghound
The 2001 Chevalier though is in another league as it is a clear step up from the premiers crus with its wonderfully intense, layered and beautifully detailed fruit offering both citrus and minerality merging seamlessly into deep, concentrated, mineral-laden, relatively powerful flavors of remarkable complexity and a long, intense, vibrant and altogether compelling finish. Extremely impressive and this will require 6 to 8 years to be at its best. Allen Meadows-Burghound
More obvious wood frames refined, elegant and ripe floral, green fruit and spice hints that continue onto the rich, full and delicious flavors that are really quite forward and possess good underlying tension though there is plenty of finishing punch and vibrancy. This is a powerful Chevalier as there is ample dry extract and the class is obvious. In sum, this is a very fine example and one that will be ready sooner than usual. Allen Meadows-Burghound
This is more elegant and refined still with an expressive nose that runs more toward floral and white fruit aromas whereas the slightly bigger and richer flavors give up none of the detail or minerality of the En Remilly. This is a bit more forward than it usually is but it's most impressive all the same. Outstanding! Allen Meadows-Burghound
