Wells Guthrie is a guy you'd like to hang out with.  He has an affable manner, an easy smile and...he makes killer wine that he lets you taste. After stints with such Syrah luminaries as Chave and Chapoutier, where he worked for in both the cellars, and the vineyards at Turley Wine Cellars. Today, Wells is the full-time owner and winemaker for Copain Wine Cellars. In a relatively short time he has raised the bar for both Sonoma Coast Syrah and Pinot Noir. He has also built a solid reputation for making wines of exceptional balance from grapes that would have otherwise been destined for California Fruit Bombs.
