The home has been in the hands of the Mazzei family since 1435 and is today driven by Lapo Mazzei and his children, Francesco and Filippo. This dynamic family has precisely defended the inborn magnificence and rich legacy of Fonterutoli, while at the same time executing measures to guarantee bleeding edge quality in the vineyards and cellars.The astounding Fonterutoli property today involves 470 hectares, of which 79 hectares are dedicated to four particular vineyard destinations: Fonterutoli, Siepi, Badiola and Belvedere. The Sangiovese grape gets itself especially at home in these four zones, which are planted at heights fluctuating in the vicinity of 750 and 1,640 feet above ocean level, at south and southwest introduction.
